Matt graduated from the Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2013 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar that same year. Prior to law school, Matt spent six years as a commercial real estate broker focusing his business on office leasing and land sales. During that time, Matt secured exclusive listing assignments totaling over $60 million, including office buildings, industrial facilities and vacant land.
In 2009, Matt joined a new firm where he helped coordinate suburban development projects through municipal planning and zoning. During this time, Matt developed a passion for working with entrepreneurs and small businesses, which he continues today by helping professional individuals and business owners meet their legal needs.
Judge Panichi was elected to the bench in November 1994 after maintaining a general law practice for 21 years in the south suburbs, including serving as the attorney for the Village of Lansing. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and Chicago-Kent College of Law.
As a judge, he was supervisor of the felony division in the 6th Municipal District in Markham and presided over 75 jury trials. He presided over a Drug Court case load and was active in state and federal organizations that promote drug treatment for non-violent offenders as an alternative to prison. After retirement from the bench, he was appointed the Judicial Outreach Liaison on behalf of the American Bar Association/NHTSA for the Midwest. He was often a speaker at high school assemblies and at driver education classes. He has been married 44 years and has four children, two of whom are Chicago area lawyers. He is a licensed boat captain and spends much of his free time maintaining the family trawler.
